Warning this may contain spoilers
I hear a rumour about people freaking out about this movie, I have not yet seen anybody freak out allegedly they do. I found this movie quite good and as a Marvel fan it is quite up my alley. But maybe that the reason I liked this movie is because I have no extended knowledge about these heroes other than very few superhero episodes on Disney channel.
Well I went to see this movie a few days ago and that was the first movie I actually saw all alone in the cinema, little sad and little weird. But anyhow the start of the movie felt a little weird, a thought crossed my mind that they putted on the wrong roll, the thought was gone after 3 second when the aliens came.
And as I liked the origin story they made for Star-lord in the movie, I wondered how close it was to the original and as read the two original origin stories on Wikipedia I came to that conclusion I found this one a little better, it is not close to the original stories but still better. None of the heroes have any real super powers except for Groot. Star-lord is cunning and lucky, Gramora can do a little fighting, Drax is good at taking out minions but is over impulsive, Rocket is actually quite skilled as a technician and then Groot, Groot got all the powers. So the gang is more or less just a lucky bunch who takes on the Kree. From what I have read on Wikipedia, the only thing I am missing about Star-lord is his vessel Ship, that would have been a very nice addition to include but maybe it comes later on.
And the Kree, I really love that they have finally been introduced, as the heroine Ms. Marvel is created by exposure of Kree energy and I like Ms. Marvel, so I hope this is sign.
Then there is the part of the Collector, he was shortly introduced in Thor the Dark World and now he is destroyed in five minutes, I do not know what you guys at Marvel is planning but this is rather peculiar. As is the introduction about a certain duck, is he introduced for fun or are they planning on using him?
But except for these few curiosities the storyline is fine, the final boss battle is a little dull but it have to be when you are up against an enemy so powerful you can only win by using one of the most destructive powers. It is a pretty universe and very nice designs. I may have a thing for the pink aliens but I am not alone.
So all in all I think I will give a full four stars, the movie should feel lucky for me not knowing the real stories, ells they could probably fall a full star.
