Deadpool is a movie full of violence, foul language and nudity. It have dirty humour, blood splatter and sex scenes. If anybody have not understood that this is a R-rated movie. Believe me when I say that any normal kid under the age of 10 would go "Eeww, gross and yuck". Boys between 10 and 15 would probably love this movie for two reasons: first, there are lots of boobs, secondly, there are a lot of action. But for anyone to fully appreciate the humour, the story and Deadpool, you have to be somewhat mature of mind, ells you are just going to see boobs and fights.
The movie is really catching the essence of Deadpool and it uses Deadpools ability to break the fourth wall in its full length. The plot line is a little short in it, like most origin stories but it captures that Deadpool is not villain nor hero, he just do what he want to. Therefore again the movie is catching the essence of Deadpool as a character.
As for Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool I do not believe we could have had a much better match. He is a type of person who can do anything from a soft teary romance movie to a hardcore action flick. He do Deadpool justice and the way he have promoted it on Twitter and acted out as a person in the last couple of years. There is still a lot of Deadpool inside him.
The flaws about this movie are quite few as
Deadpool is a character that travels through tons of timelines and alternative universes. It will be quite hard actually to do flaws, therefore I can only mention what I am displeased with. I miss Deadpools ability to teleport as it is one of his powers he use quite often and in the movie it would have been useful in a few situations. Though it could be they wait with him developing it till the next movie. I am also a little displeased with Colossus, he is always portrayed in his titanium form, even when it is not necessary. It is like they forget that Colossus is actually capable of changing from flesh to titanium.
As a movie it is depending a lot on the sex and violence and if it was not because of Deadpools character I would have called it a cheap shot. Therefore it is only because it is the essence of Deadpool I give it five out of five stars ells I would probably have given it three or four stars.
When all this is said it have been a very successful R-rated movie and it is already beginning to start a trend of making more movies R-rated. The next Wolverine is in talk for R-rating and there have been written a Spawn manuscript in R-rating. This can be both good and bad, because it will give opportunity for a lot of well made future movies. But as it usually happens when a new trend is getting on, there will come flops. Producers will try to hard to follow the trend and in this case it will probably result in too much and unnecessary sex, nudity and violence in movies that can not handle an R-rating.
