So Ice Age ... again ... The fifth full movie in the series is out now or as I am beginning to call the series "How can we make the next movie even more ridiculous". It is not bad, it is great of fun and have lots of humour but please end this series. The first Ice Age movie was fantastic and had reasonable plot line and since then the movies gets more and more ridiculous in an attempt to entertain us and make us laugh. It is like they just find a natural disaster that could kill them all and just adds a lot of stupidity and dumb stuff to make us laugh.In this movie it is a meteor hurling trough space threatening to kill them all, but apparently it is hyper magnetic and is drawn to a magnetic force on earth. So the team of characters that have been collected through the other movies is going to save the earth by making the meteor go in another direction.
That Dreamworks keep using these characters seems like a money decision. Personally I think they should start a new franchise. If they want to keep making apocalypse movies for kids, why not start a series called "How to survive apocalypses", then they could make a set of new characters and just throw them through all the different kinds of apocalypses without overdoing the ridiculousness. When this is said they can stop the series here as everyone is happy but I fear they will not. I kind of want to bet that in a few years there will be a new movie with because Diego, Cid or Peaches gets a child and a new disaster happens, maybe a forest fire.
But the movie is fun and with humour and works greats for the kids. So if you want a movie to laugh and relax to or you want to entertain some kids go see it.
I think I will only give three stars out of five this time but I also want this to end so maybe I am too biased.
