Luke Cage - Series Review

Luke Cage the series got released today and is thirteen episodes long. It takes place after season one of Jessica Jones. Luke Cage needed some time away from what had happened and to think about the situation, so he takes home Harlem where he grew up. Trying to go through his life unnoticed he suddenly find himself in a battle against the local crime lord Cottonmouth and later Diamondback. The show puts a lot of focus on the racial problems in Harlem and puts up a serious tone.
None of the other heroes from the group The Defenders, that is planned for later, shows up in this series. Though Claire Temple, the nurse from Daredevil and Jessica Jones is playing a big role and Jessica Jones' friend Trish Walker makes an audio appearance. It would have been expected that either Jessica Jones or Iron Fist made an visual appearance.
Unlike the other Marvel series, Luke Cage is less flashy and except for Luke himself it seems like a big gang war. I find it a bit more boring compared to the others but I still like it a lot and have great expectation for future series by Marvel.
