A series of unfortunate events - Series Review

When I was a kid I watched the movie: A series of unfortunate events. The one with Jim Carrey as Count Olaf. As a kid I thought it was a fantastic movie and I could not wait for a sequel to be made. I watched it again a few months ago, realising that the story was incomplete. There were many wholes in the story and it raised many questions in my mind. So when I heard that Netflix was creating a series on the story, I got very interested. I could just have found and read the 13 book to get the full story, but I did not.
To recap the story for those of you who do not know it or can not remember it. It is about the three kids: Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire. They lose their parents in a house fire and becomes orphans. They are then put in care under a distant relative, their Count Olaf, who is only trying to get his fingers on the Baudelair fortune. From here on a series of unfortunate events is happening, making the kids lives unbearable.
The new serie Netflix has made is a bit different from the movie. The order of events have been rearranged a bit. Some of the characters have gained new characteristics and some of them have become a bit weird.
Overall it is quite well made, there is good acting, a great cast and it is a fun and good story. Though I would claim that Jim Carrey was better as Count Olaf than Neil Patrick Harris is. Neil Patrick Harris is doing a fantastic Olaf.
There are some aspects I do not like in the serie for example: the baby Sunny, is now and then a little too CGI, at some points she can remind one of a demon child from a horror movie. Secondly, the character Lemony Snicket is a terrible spoiler. I know it is the character, but still a bit annoying. I also think that it humour a little too often to lighten the series. Which sometimes belittles and ridicules the entire story.
But all in all it is a good story and a good series.
