Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 - Movie Review

To make a short recap the Guardians of the galaxy is a group of unlikely team mates consisting various alien races and genetically modified creatures, lead by the earth human Peter Quill. The group is very chaotic neutral in their ways, killing bad guys, stealing from good guys and more or less do what they want and of course protecting the galaxy from complete destruction.
In the final minutes of the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Peter Quill is told that he is not completely human but got some ancient alien DNA in him. The second movie is more or less about Peter Quill's search for his real father which "spoiler alerts" he finds. But while Peter relive some family ties a new threat to the entire universe surface and requires the team to intervene.
For me the movie was like watching an epic Dungeons and Dragons story unfold before my eyes. The story is wild, fantastic and feels natural. The characters are free and is completely in line with their persona from the first movie. Where the first movie felt a bit more forced because it had to create the common goal between such different characters, the second movie was more free-flowing and the story did not have to be force the same way. It is a very beautiful and artistic movie with many wonderful and creative elements.
Drax the destroyer and Groot brings lots of great humour and funny moments and Rocket, Yondu, Gamora and Nebula brings an element of many deep emotions. The movie put a lot of energy on the importance of family and the many variations that family can come in. It felt like they really want to honour families.
For me this was another five out of five stars movie, it had everything I wanted and needed from the movie. I am really looking forward to the big Marvel Cinematic Universe collision that will happen in the Infinity war movies.
