After killing all known participants in his family's death and faking his own death, Frank Castle now live his life as Pete Castigliogne, a common worker at a construction site. One day a young man takes work at the construction site and trying to fit in he ends up being targeted by one of the town's mafia group. Frank Castle is faced with the choice to save the young man and risk his new life or let evil win. Frank helps the young man in full Punisher style and a supposedly dead agent with the codename Micro reach out to Frank with new information. It turns out that the hit on Frank Castle's family was ordered from higher powers and the Punisher needs to get back in action.
Unlike the earlier Punisher movies, the series is very chill and laid back, giving time for the story to evolve and mature like a fine wine. The Punisher movies are more or less hardcore action from the start to the end following the story of Frank Castle revenging his family. This series takes time to deal with PTSD, depression, miscare of the united troops, the faults in the system and the danger extreme patriotism. Every episode adds to the tension until the final culmination where the Punisher can go hardcore action in the last three or four episodes. This series is real, but if you expect a hardcore action movie, it can feel a little slow and you will wait for some time. This Frank Castle is also more human, more squishy squishy and less terminator.
The animation, acting and choreography is most of the time pretty standard. But the story and script is pretty good. I have nothing bad to say about this series so the rating will end on four and a half star out of five though I probably will not be rewatching it any time soon.
