Sex on TV

So I have been thinking about this for some time and I may be alone in this. Movies and series has the last couple of years been doing more and more explicit sex scenes and added more nudity. And I think we have reached a point where the sex scenes have become too explicit.
Sex scenes are often used in movies and series to show the progression in two characters relationship and further the characters personal development. They can be great use for the plot and for the viewers emotional connection to the characters, they can be used for artistic purpose and they can be used to show the society's viewpoint on sex and more. There are many good reasons to add a sex scene in the movie or series and there are many way to them.
I remember when I were a child and saw the older movies. To see a boob were a somewhat rare sight and sex scenes where more like two people kissing intensely on a bed and then fading to black with a single moan. It was simple and quick, done in thirty seconds and it was clear to everyone what just happened. Now sex scenes are about five minutes long, showing almost every part of both partners anatomy. It is long scenes with two almost naked persons, separated by a small dick pouch of cloth, faking having sex with loud moans. I would say that these sex scenes I mention here is very close to porn and there is nothing wrong with porn but if I wanted to see porn I would find some porn.
Basically the issue I am trying to express is that these explicit sex scenes are unnecessary long and well explicit. The five minutes spent on showing a man with his head two millimetres away from a woman's vagina faking having sex could instead have been used to include scenes that betters the plot. There are always scenes getting cut and moved to extra material because the has become "too long" and these scenes could have been in the movie instead of the sex scenes.
Now it may sound like I am a prude saying we have too much sex in movies and series. The thing is that for me, the story and the art are the important parts. I am ready to argue for legalisation of public sex and masturbation but I do not want to waste time on unnecessary sex scenes. Besides I think most of these explicit sex scenes are only made to further the sale of the movie or series. Using the actors naked bodies as a sexual "reward" for the viewers. Actors might directly or indirectly accept the terms and do the sex scenes to get the role or keep it. But an actor's naked body should not be used as a mean to further sale (with many exceptions, like if it is porn or the actors consent). There are many ways to do non-sexual sex scenes, like the post-sex fall down exhausted on the bed scene. And I imagine that these explicit sex scenes put a strain on the actors personal relationships, making it even harder to have a real life with significant others. Actors are treasures who sacrifices a lot for the art (they also gain a lot too) but we do not have to make their life harder for unnecessary sex scenes.

Now that I have said my part, it is up to you to discuss it further if you want. I just thought that with the #MeToo and #TimesUp this should probably be discussed by someone.
