Tomb Raider - Movie Review

A wealthy business disappears on one of his trips around the globe. A young girl grows up without
her parents hoping that one day her dad will return. But after seven years the girl, Lara, is asked to sign a form declaring her dad dead and receives an old Japanese puzzle box containing a mysteries note. The note is from her dad with clues to a secret double life he lived investigating mystical legends and Lara decides to follow his tracks to find out what happened to her dad.
Alicia Vikander brings Lara Croft back to the big screen in new amazing and daring adventures saving the world from mystical forces. Alicia is amazing, she kicks ass and she could probably do a whole set of Tomb Raider movies. I was raised with the Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider and for many years I did not care about any other version of Lara Croft (the video games) but Alicia proves that she is more than well fitted to carry the mantle of a bad ass Tomb Raider.
This is an origin story movie rebooting the Tomb Raider cinematic series, which can put a damper on any movie but this is no problem. I do not know if this is a compliment for the game franchise or critique of the movie, but there were some scenes that looked like they could have been taken from the games. I did sit up close to the screen it can have impacted my visual experience badly, but beside looking a bit like the game it also had some pixilated scenes. All in all it was a great movie, good story with lots action and excitement and the actors were great, they could maybe have found a better antagonist he lacked a bit evilness. I will give it three and a half star out of five but I sure hope they make at least five movies in this reboot.
