13 Reasons Why season 2 - Series Review

13 Reasons Why is a series about a girl who committed suicide and left thirteen tapes explaining the reasons why she did it. It is a fictional story made to put focus on suicide and the social problems that are to find in an common American high school. The first season is all about Hannah's story after she committed suicide and how the death effects her family and the main character Clay. And because of the popularity the series got from the first season they continued with another season. The second season is about how Hannah's mother is trying to get justice for her daughter and force the school to instate a better system to help the students. It is a long trial where new stories and perspectives on Hannah's story is revealed and it is questioned if it really is the social elements in school and the school's fault or if there were other reasons for Hannah's suicide and if other people could have prevented it.
The second season is just good and keeps the story going and brings even more focus on suicide and the many reasons there can be for someone to end their own life. But it is clear that not every part of the new story was planned during season one and it reconstructs the original story in a slightly badder version. It is also hard to place some of the new story bits on the timeline. This does not make it a bad story, it is still really good and pushes the boundaries and forces us to talk about the hard topics in society.
So though I did not wish for a second season I think they did mostly okay. I approve of the new season.
