Disenchantment - Series Review

From the mind who made both The Simpsons and Futurama comes a new series called Disenchantment. During some magical medieval times there was alcoholic princess whose mother had turned to stone after a failed assassination attempt and her father had to remarry a amphibian humanoid. The Princess Tiabeanie Mariabeanie De La Rochambeaux Drunkowitz or Bean between her friends are supposed to be married in alliance. Luckily for Bean she gets two new friends to help her escape from the wedding. She is joined by Elfo a simple elf who does not know of anything and Luci a demon getting bound to her to lure her into trouble. Together the three gets into all kinds of problems while a secret cult is trying overthrow the kingdom. The story is slow; the first episodes is just a little random chaos and it is not before the last episodes that deeper story is revealed.
Disenchantment is very similar to Futurama; it got similar characters and jokes but re-imagined to new settings. You could almost say that the main character Bean is a medieval royal female version of the Futurama main character Fry. This series could just as well be some sort of prequel to Futurama and an Easter egg showing Fry and the Professor appearing in the time machine could  confirm this.
This series is classic Matt Groening and got all of his humour and stile. I would not say that there is much new in this series, it has just been re-imagined. It is a cool and fine series, I am not impressed but if you like Futurama and The Simpsons, I can almost guarantee that you will like Disenchantment. I will give it three  out of five. It could have gotten more if Futurama had not existed.
