Venom - Movie Review

Eddie Brock is an investigative reporter who after an interview with Carlton Drake, the CEO of Life Foundation, loses his job, his fiancée and his home. One of Carlton's scientists is having a moral dilemma with the work they are doing and seeks out Eddie wanting to give him a second chance on exposing all the bad things Life Foundation does. Eddie breaks into Life Foundation where he finds illegal human trials and as he helps one of th
e captives out he gets infected with the alien life form Venom. While bound with Venom, Eddie learns of a plan for the other aliens to invade earth and eat all the humans and together they set out to stop it.
It is a cool movie with a lot of good animation and great action scenes. The story is interesting and good with exception of the introducing setup. The setup is a little boring and you got to ask how a person can afford giving a homeless twenty dollars after six months of unemployment. It feels like they rush through the setup for the movie in order to quickly get over the "boring" details. But as soon as you are past the first ten minutes and the story is starting properly it is a great story.
It is kind of weird to watch a Venom movie without Spiderman in it but it works great and is a good action movie. I will give it four and a half star out of five.
A second thought I got from watching the movie, is that it could be a great video game. You are the symbiote Venom going through the Marvel universe having to infect different hosts in order to survive. Some hosts are incompatible and a weak combination but others are very compatible and gives a strong combination with extra powers. And then you have to focus on your host's health and remember to eat other people at a regular basis or your host will die and will have to find a new host. The plot of the game could be close to the movie plot.
