After the events of Suicide Squad, the Joker breaks up with Harley Quinn for good. Heartbroken and trying to start a new life she, she adopts a Hyena, joins a roller-derby team, move into her own apartment and sends a message to the world that it is officially over. The world picks up this message and agrees that since Harley is no longer under the Joker's protection, Harley hunt season has begun. At the same time a young girl, Cassandra Cain, pickpockets a diamond from Victor Zsasz. A diamond that Black Mask needed in order to get his hands on the Bertinelli fortune. Luckily Black Mask has Black Canary on his pay roll and just captured Harley Quinn and convinces them to Cassandra for him.

Once again Margot Robbie is a perfect Harley Quinn, fun, empowered and really understanding the deeper emotions and personality of Harley. She is simply just fantabolous and amazing. The best part about the whole movie. But then again this is a movie about Harley Quinn. It might sound like it is about all the Birds of Prey but in reality the others do not matter. Harley Quinn is the only thing that matters in this movie. Huntress is little one-sided, all she wants is to kill the four men who murdered her family and has no plans for anything ells or feelings it seems. Black Canary has a personal trauma that is hardly used or explored, just lightly scratched. Renee Montoya has no moral dilemmas in going from cop to vigilante and does not really get to stand up against her "suppressors". And Cassandra Cain whose parents are always fighting and probably stealing for the same reason (not explained) gets hunted by a big time crime-lord and almost murdered several times but that is not biggie for her. Also Black Mask is kind of a whiny bitch instead of a cool controlling crime-lord. And Victor Zsasz is yet again reduced to a simple henchman instead of the sadistic serial killer. They only once makes reference to how he scars himself as a trophy for each kill he makes.
I like this movie because I am a really big fan of Harley Quinn. It is a fun comedy with cool action scenes. I would not say that it needed the R rating, it hardly takes advantage of the rating. There is some blood and violence but it is not gory and I do not remember there being any nudity. The story is okay but the other characters needed more personality. Objectively I will give it three and a half out of five stars. But I give Harley Quinn ten out of five.
