Feel The Beat - Movie Review

April can wave goodbye to her dreams of dancing on Broadway ever again after she accidentally pushes Broadway legend Ruth Zimmer off the stage. April reluctantly returns to her home town in Wisconsin to take some time for herself. Everybody, especially the dance teacher, are so proud of how April made it and immediately tries make her part of the community. But April only thinks of how to get back to Broadway and luckily enough a opportunity emerges. The local dance school wants to compete in a national dance competition and between the judges for are one of the only people willing to go against Ruth Zimmer's word. April just have to get the local talent in shape in a very short time and could get a chance to get her life back.
It is a classical big dreamer plot. The main character is willing to do whatever it takes to succeed with their dreams. But while overcoming hard odds and difficult challenges, the main character finds something they did not know they needed. And know they have the choice to follow what they always worked for or drop everything for this new love. These kind of movies ask the question if are dreams are worth it and how far we dare go to achieve our dreams.
It is a very nice family movie with good dancing and some wholesome moments. It is a little predictable but that is the cost of following a classic plot. But personally I do not mind if it is predictable or uses a classic plot as long as it is well made. And this movie is very well executed. It got a good cast and a great choreography. Sofia Carson looks like she was born for the role of April. I have often felt she unnaturally calm and sweet in some of her other movies but this time she got to show range, power and a great deal of talent. And the kids even though some are very young really did great acting and dancing.
I love a good dance movie and this seems like it got some good technical dancing in it. It is also fun, inspiring and heart warm. I wanna give this movie four and a half star. I can not give a reason for not giving it five stars. I just did not feel like giving it five.
