The Bubble - Movie Review

A group of actors returns to make the sixth Cliff Beasts movie. But because of the on going pandemic they have to live together totally isolated from the rest of the world. As the shooting progresses they soon learn that set is a dangerous and chaotic hell and they are trapped together until the movie is done.

Judd Apatow have made this satirical comedy movie depicting the troublesome conditions actors and production teams generally have to work under and how the pandemic amplified it. The incidents in the movie are purely fictional but it still serves as a critic and comment on the entire film industry.

The Bubble is not a Oscar winning blockbuster comedy movie and if you are not into satire or meta comedy, you might not find it funny. It is a very contemporary movie; in a generation or two it will be weird and comical on a whole other level as the pandemic (as it looks like now as I write) will be gone and somewhat forgotten. It is not a knee slapper with quick jokes and quips flying around. But it does exactly what it set out to do, make fun of the real world with what seems like an outlandish situation.

So why should you watch this movie? It is an enjoyable comedy with many great actors having fun doing their job. It is both entertaining and have an important message about how people in the film industry are treated and how we all should treat each other better. I am willing to give this movie three out of five stars. I already plan on watching it again.
