Thor: Love and Thunder - Movie Review

After the Avengers defeated Thanos, Thor took out on a soul searching trip with the Guardians of the Galaxy but without finding what he seeks. While travelling the universe they receive distress calls from many different Gods, including Sif who informs Thor that the God-Killer is going to Asgard next. Thor returns to New Asgard on earth just as Gorr the God-Killer attacks. Here Thor meets Jane Foster who surprisingly has gotten the power of Thor herself. Gorr kidnaps the children of New Asgard and flees the battle.

Love and Thunder is the fourth Thor movie is a great action and adventure movie where the main themes different kinds of love and how to deal with the loss of love or a loved one. The story feels a little comprised in the start but it really gets to flesh out after that. Both Jane and Gorr could have had a little more build to increase the emotional level. Of course that would have extended the length of the movie with about half an hour. Otherwise the story is really great and lets the viewer explore and learn more about the universe.

And just like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Ring; Thor: Love and Thunder is a visual marvel. Especially the Shadow Realm makes really great use of colour and the lack of it. The Marvel cinematic animation team seems to outperform themselves with every movie they make and they are not slowing down. The newer Marvel movies are just exceptional animated art pieces. But of course with movies as big as these there are some times things that does not look as exceptional. In this case I think the God Tapu felt off when I watched the movie. It is hard to say for sure as the scenes were very fast but there was something displeasing with his animations.

Overall I give Thor: Love and Thunder four and a half stars out of five. It is a classic Thor adventure with great humour and a lot of action.
