Assassin's Creed Rouge - Game Review

This year Ubisoft released two Assassin's Creed games at approximately the same time, the Assassin's Creed Rouge and Assassin's Creed Unity. Unity was made for Playstation 4 and Xbox 1 and Rouge was made for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Sadly for me I do not yet have the PS4 only the PS3 so this is only about Rouge.

This game was not that big of an improvement from Black Flag, it is clear that they were working on two games from same franchise at the same time. The basic of this story was the Seven years war and to give a bit more background to some of the characters from Assassin's Creed III, which took place under the American Revolution. There were a bigger variety in the collectibles section but the story was shorter and except from the icebergs that now filled the sea it felt like Black flag just a bit north. Trophy wise it has also turned to the easy side, where the other games always had a lot of trophies only achievable in online playing, this had only single trophies (which I actually like, now it is possible to get platinum trophy). The story line from the present in the Abstergo head quarters were more or less pointless, it gave much of the same information that we have learned from the previous games and few new pieces.

I of course had to have this instalment of the series thus it was probably the least intriguing title released for the PS3. It took me about 24 hours of gameplay to finish the game with about 66 percent of full completion and I really tried to waste time on hunting collectibles, whales and all the other side activities. But let me say it this way, the game was not bad and I did not dislike anything, it just was not good either, it was a little above average and therefore I give it three stars maybe three and a half. I gave Black Flag three and a half stars but that was because I got annoyed by a really annoying bug, that turned out to be my stupidity. So to make a correction, Black Flag gets four stars from me.

And as a goodbye I will make a wish for an Assassin's Creed game with a story line in the Nordic Countries or maybe in England, and cut a bit down on the sailing. Thank you.
